How to Cancel an Uber Eats Order – Its Simple!

Ok… so you placed an order through Uber Eats but now you aren’t feeling all that hungry. Don’t worry there is a quick fix to this problem and in this post I’m going to be sharing with you exactly how to cancel an Uber Eats order.

In order for you to be able to cancel an order and not pay money, you are going to have to act fast. So if you are looking this information up in hopes of canceling an order you just place, you need to read this at light speed.

You Must Act Quickly

You will not get charged for your order if you cancel before the restaurant has accepted your order. Once they have accepted it and are preparing your food there is no (well.. very little) chance of backing out of it, your payment has already been processed.

The time you have between when you order through Uber Eats and when the restaurant accepts your order will vary but you can usually expect this to happen within 5-10 minutes.

You will receive a notification when your order has went through and you can check on this in the app.

There is a slight chance that you can get a refund even after the order is accepted but the chance of this happening is slim to none.

If you are in dire need of an order cancellation and your order has already been accepted by the restaurant, you will have to contact Uber Support through the app. They will then have to confirm with the restaurant that it is OK to cancel the order and that they haven’t started preparing the food yet.

If for some reason you can’t contact them through the app, their support number is 1-800-253-9377 for people in the US.

There will be a very small window of opportunity to actually make this work out. Even if you do try to cancel just after they accept your order but haven’t actually started preparing the food yet, by the time Uber contacts them and goes through all that mess, its more than likely too late.

Personally I wouldn’t even bother trying to cancel an order that has already been accepted, unless maybe if its very expensive and you really need your money back. Just don’t count on it working.

How To Cancel It

Canceling your order is pretty simple.

If you go to the order tracking screen you should see where it says “confirming order with restaurant”. If it doesn’t say this then the order has already been accepted and should say so. But if it does say this then look right below that and there is a button where you can cancel it.

When you go to cancel it you should see a screen that looks something like this that you will have to confirm your cancellation on.

If for some reason you would want to cancel your order after it has been accepted and the food is ready for delivery, you can also do this. But the only money you will save here is the delivery fee. You will still be charged for the fee.

To do this you need to contact the UberEats support team from the 1-800-253-9377 number.

Just Want to Change an Order?

If you messed up and order this doesn’t mean that you have to cancel it and place a new order to make this right.

You can actually change an order by contacting the UberEats support team via the support number above. But again, you need to do this quickly. If it is too far along in the process and your food is prepared you might not be able to do this.

UberEats will contact the restaurant to see if it is possible to change an order up and they will do their best to get what you want. But much of this depends on the restaurant. Some restaurants will be more lenient and willing to change an order that is already partially made up while others are not.

Just Make It Quick

The key point to take away here is that if you want to make any changes to the order you placed, such as changing an item or two, or canceling it completely, you need to act fast. If you don’t you will be charged.

Is Amazon Flex a Scam? What You Should Know

Amazon claims that you can make $18-$25 per hour driving around on your own schedule delivering packages. But is this really true? Or is Amazon Flex a scam that is a waste of your time?

I’ll jump straight to the point here and tell you that NO, Amazon Flex is not a scam… HOWEVER, there are a few things that you should definitely know about this job opportunity that they don’t make clear and make their claims a little misleading.

In this short post I’ll be going over what they don’t tell you and what you need to know.

Can You Really Make $18-$25/hr?

While this is true it is somewhat misleading.

Yes, you will make $18-25/hr. Amazon Flex promises $18/hr minimum as a base pay. This is really nice and is something that a lot of similar companies do not do for their drivers.

But what they don’t say upfront and make clear enough is that you will have to pay your own expenses. This is because when you work as a delivery driver you are considered an independent contractor. This is good in some ways because you are your own boss, but it has its downsides.

The cost of paying for gas is probably going to be your main expense, followed by oil changes, replacing tires and brakes, and other common maintenance needs.

The amount that you will spend on expenses can vary greatly depending on what vehicle you are driving so there is no good estimate that I can give your really. If are driving a hybrid Toyota Prius then of course you are going to much better gas mileage than if you are driving a Ford F150. So this is very subjective.

Tips Help Cover The Expenses

One of the good things is that you can receive (official) tips with Amazon Flex, unlike Uber. Amazon customers that you deliver packages to can actually tip you up to 48 hours after delivery. This is really nice and will help you cover vehicle expenses. You also will receive unofficial cash tips from customers when you deliver to them directly.

The amount of tips you will receive will also very depending on a lot of things, such as the area you are delivering in and the demographics there.

You Likely Won’t Work Much

One of the great downsides to driving for Amazon Flex is the lack of hours available to drivers. It isn’t very uncommon for drivers to have very little hours assigned and even for some to go for a week or so without being assigned any hours.

This is a problem and it comes from driver saturation. There are just too many drivers out there and not enough packages to deliver. I personally think that Amazon should stop advertising this Flex job so much and let the drivers they already have pick up more hours.

But although it can be very difficult to get hours, it can be done. There are people I have seen that are able to work 30+ hours a week consistently which I think is pretty darn good.

The good thing about this lack of hours being assigned is that you can pick up hours on your own. These hours that I am taking about are called “blocks”, which is just another word for shifts. And you can pick up these blocks through the app when other drivers call off.

Is It Worth Your Time?

With all the bad things I just said about this job I still do think that it can be worth your time. $18/hr as a minimum base pay is pretty darn good for driving around as your own boss in my opinion. As I mentioned there are expenses to pay but the tips you will get do a pretty good job of covering them.

So if you have some free time and are looking for extra income then I would recommend Amazon Flex. But if you are looking to bring in a full-time income I would not. Although people do manage to bring in a full-time in come delivering as a Flex driver it is just too unreliable because the hours are not fixed.

For my full review on whether or not I think it is worth your time you can click here.

If you are interested in working as a driver you first are going to need to make sure that you pass the Amazon Flex requirements. This means that you the driver are going to have to meet their outlined requirements as well as your vehicle.

But don’t get your panties in a bunch over these, they are very lenient and it doesn’t take much to qualify. The basic requirements include…

  • At least 21 years old
  • Have a dependable vehicle
  • Have a smartphone
  • Can pass a criminal background check
  • Can pass a motor vehicle history check

Final Thoughts

Ok, so Amazon Flex is definitely no scam. It is all legit. The only way that I can see anyone calling them a scam would be because they do promote the opportunity as being slightly better than it actually is. They talk about making $18-$25/hr and the flexible schedule that you will have and all of the good things but they don’t make it as well known that you will have to pay for expenses and that you will find it difficult to pick up “blocks”.

So you could try to make the argument that they mislead you, but whats true is true.. Amazon Flex is legitimate and it is a good opportunity.

Just don’t try to make this opportunity something that it isn’t. It is not a reliable way to make a full-time living and I wouldn’t suggest relying on it as such. It is however a great way to earn a side income and also works good for people who want to couple this job with other similar jobs like Uber and Lyft.

Overall, this does have its downsides but I am still a fan.

Amazon Flex Car Insurance – What You Should Know

If you are interested in driving for Amazon Flex as a delivery driver, you need to be aware of the insurance requirements that come with the job. As a driver, your insurance will have to meet certain criteria and this can differ depending on the location in which you will be delivering.

You also should be aware that Amazon Flex car insurance is provided to you when you are on the job, and this goes on top of the required coverage that you have to have.

In this short post I will be going over everything you need to know when it comes to working as a Flex driver and the insurance that you need, as well as the insurance that you are given.

Do You Need Special Insurance?

When using your vehicle for commercial purposes, like ridesharing, delivery, etc., most personal insurance policies will not cover the driver when they are on the job. However, they will cover the driver when they are not on the job.

So what bridges the gap? Since most personal insurance policies will not cover you when you are working for Amazon Flex, what happens if you get into a wreck?

Are you going to have to pay extra money to get commercial insurance?

Luckily, most Amazon Flex drivers are not going to need any special insurance like commercial insurance. Your regular old personal car insurance will cover you fine. The reason for this is that Amazon Flex actually provides you with their own form of commercial insurance when you are working for them.

So your personal car insurance will be active when you are not on the job and Amazon Flex’s car insurance will kick into action when you are on the job.

Exception To This: In New York City Amazon Flex drivers are required to have commercial insurance of their own. The Amazon Flex car insurance will not be available to them.

Insurance Requirements

You are required to keep personal insurance on your vehicle that is compliant with local and state laws. The minimum requirements of auto insurance vary depending on where you live.

There are 4 main coverage categories that might be included in your state’s requirements. These include…

  • Bodily Injury Liability – Coverage of injuries to other people involved
  • Property Damage Liability – Coverage of property damage
  • Personal Injury Protection – Coverage of personal injuries (usually no-fault)
  • Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Protection – Coverage when another at-fault driver doesn’t have liability insurance

The minimum requirements for where you live are usually expressed with a set of numbers like 20/40/15. This means that there is a $20,000 coverage per person for injuries, $40,000 per accident for injuries, and $15,00 per accident for property damage.

I am not going to go through each state and list the minimum auto insurance requirements. There is a good article on (can read it here) that lists out the requirements for every state in the US.

Amazon Flex Car Insurance

Out of all the rideshare and delivery services that require you to drive your own car (Ex: Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, etc), Amazon Flex has one of the best insurance policies out there to cover you as a driver.

It provides 3 types of coverage which include Commercial Auto Liability, Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Protection, and Contingent Comprehensive & Collision Coverage.

Commercial Auto Liability

  • Up to $1 million in coverage/incident
  • Covers damage to third parties vehicle(s) & person(s)

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Protection

  • Up to$1 million in coverage/incident
  • Covers injuries to you and passengers as well as damage to your vehicle
  • Applies when another driver is at fault and doesn’t have adequate insurance

Contingent Comprehensive & Collision Coverage

  • Up to $50,000/incident
  • Covers damage to your vehicle
  • Includes $1,000 deductible
  • Must have comprehensive & collision coverage on your personal policy for this to apply

When Does This Amazon’s Insurance Apply?

As I’ve mentioned, this commercial insurance that they will give you as a Flex driver applies when you are on the job.

This means it will cover you and become your primary insurance when you: are on route to deliver a package, heading back to the warehouse to load up, or when you are on your way to return undelivered packages.

So it will not apply before you start working when you are driving to work, nor will it apply when you are finished and driving from work.

Something You Should Know

Although Amazon Flex only requires its drivers to have personal auto insurance coverage, there are situations where this will not work out.

Many insurance companies will refuse to cover you if they find out that you are working as a rideshare driver, or delivery on demand driver. Even though Amazon will cover you when you are on the job, there still are problems with it all.

Luckily, many insurance companies are coming out with special “rideshare insurance” that is specifically for these types of jobs. Geico, AllState, Farmers, Progressive, State Farm… they all have rideshare insurance now (not available in all areas). This insurance is more expensive than personal coverage and usually ranges anywhere from $10 – $30 more per month. But its better than paying for commercial insurance.

If I were you, I would call my insurance company and if the personal coverage is good enough, if not you will have to purchase rideshare insurance. Because you are an independent contractor it is up to you to take care of things like this.

What To Do When You Get Into An Accident

I guess I should say “if” you get into an accident. I don’t want to jinx you.

What you should do is begin with all the things you would normally do… provide your insurance, report the accident to your insurance provider, etc.

The second thing you need to do is report the accident to Amazon Flex support ASAP. I would suggest either contacting them by phone or by their support email: You should also provide any third parties with your Amazon Flex insurance policy.

Is there anything that you have questions, comments, or concerns on??? Leave a reply in the comment section below and I’ll get back to you within 24 hours 🙂

Amazon Flex Car Requirements – See If Your Car Qualifies

If you are looking to deliver for Amazon Flex then you are first going to have to make sure that your car qualifies to do so. So what are the Amazon Flex car requirements? In this post I went over each requirement they have along with a brief explanation about it.

Amazon’s requirements are pretty lenient in my opinion so it is not much to be worried about.

But before you check to see if your vehicle qualifies you should first verify that you are even able to deliver for Amazon Flex in your area. Amazon Flex is currently available in the following areas…

  • Arlington (VA)
  • Atlanta
  • Austin
  • Baltimore
  • Boston
  • Brooklyn
  • Chicago
  • Cincinnati
  • Columbus
  • Dallas
  • Denver
  • Detroit
  • Houston
  • Indianapolis
  • Las Vegas
  • Greater Los Angeles Area
  • Manhattan
  • Miami
  • Milwaukee

  • Minneapolis/ St Paul
  • Nashville
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Orlando
  • Philadelphia
  • Phoenix
  • Pittsburgh
  • Portland
  • Raleigh
  • Richmond
  • San Antonio
  • Greater San Francisco Area
  • Seattle
  • Springfield (VA)
  • Tampa Bay
  • Tucson
  • Virginia Beach

But all of these areas don’t necessarily have openings. To check the current openings you can go to

If Amazon Flex is hiring in your area then here are the vehicle requirements that you need know…

Vehicle Requirements

Amazon requires your vehicle to be “dependable” and of course this is something that should be expected. They don’t want a driver that is going to be breaking down and delivering packages late.

Now what Amazon considers dependable and what you consider dependable are 2 different things. But there is no car inspection or anything of that nature performed by Amazon so it is pretty much your word.

All vehicles must be a a 4-door sedan or larger. Example: a 4-door Honda Civic.

This is must to make sure that you will have enough space in your vehicle to hold the necessary amount of packages that you will need to deliver.

*There is an exception to this that I’ll go over.

Vehicles cannot be left open to the outside elements. What this means is that if you have a truck you must have an enclosed bed. This is just to protect the packages from weather.

You may be able to get away with delivering with an open bed when the weather is nice. I wouldn’t risk it though, you may get sent home.

What You Can’t Drive

As you can infer from the information above, cars that are smaller than your regular 4-door Honda Civic sedan and trucks without enclosed beds will not qualify.

Again, this is has to do with the capacity of your vehicle to be able to actually hold all the necessary packages that need to be delivered as well as your vehicles ability to protect the packages from weather and damage.

Exceptions To The Rule

With Amazon Flex you can deliver for either Amazon’s “Prime Now” service or The requirements listed above are for order. But if you are going to be delivering for Prime Now then there aren’t really any restrictions. You just need a vehicle that transport packages in a safe and reliable way.

You also may be eligible to deliver on bicycle. In certain cities Amazon does allow bicycle couriers (New York City for example). To deliver on bike you just need to make sure it meets the state or cities requirements to be street legal and it must have a basket to hold packages. You, the rider, are required to wear a helmet.

You Might Want To Try Regardless

Even if you are looking to deliver for and your vehicle just misses meeting some of the requirements, you might want to try anyway.

As I’ve mentioned, Amazon doesn’t actually check or inspect your vehicle to make sure that it meets their standards. They take you at your word.

If you show up at the warehouse to pick up your packages in a vehicle that doesn’t follow the guidelines they may let it slide as long as the packages fit. This does happen. The warehouse workers tend to be pretty lenient when it comes to these things.

So if you don’t have a car that passes the requirements that they lay out for you, you may want to give it a try anyhow, although this definitely isn’t the best choice.

Don’t Have Car That Qualifies?

I don’t think this is the best choice and I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way to do this personally, but if you don’t have a vehicle that qualifies you are able to rent, lease, or borrow a vehicle and work for Amazon Flex.

You must have authorization to drive the vehicle, along with  all the necessary permits, licenses, ect. If you are allowed to drive the car, Amazon will let you.

Anyway, I don’t advocate doing this but I thought I would mention it just because this is an option that you can choose.

What About Insurance?

Yes, you are going to need car insurance. But this is nothing to stress out about.

New York City is the only place that I know of that requires Amazon Flex drivers to have commercial insurance on their vehicle.

All other cities just require that you have your normal personal insurance, Amazon Flex will actually give you commercial insurance when you are working for them. This insurance includes liability, uninsured & underinsured motorist, and comprehensive and collision insurance.

What To Do Next

If Amazon Flex is hiring in your area and your vehicle meets the necessary requirements then now it is time to make sure you qualify.

You, the driver, is also going to have to pass the test. Just as the requirements for your vehicle, driver requirements are also lenient. The most concerning part of the process is the background check and this seems to get the most attention. It sparks worry and stress, but it’s probably nothing you need to worry about.

Amazon Flex Salary – What You Can Realistically Expect To Make

Amazon boasts their Flex drivers make anywhere from $18-$25/hr, but is this a realistic Amazon Flex salary? That is the real question here and in this short post I’m going to go over a few things that you should know about the pay before you decide whether or not to sign up with Amazon Flex.

The truth is that you can make $18-$25/hr with Flex, but these numbers can be misleading an I’ll show you why. First I’m going to go over a how Amazon pays you, how much drivers actually make per hour, and how much you can expect to make per day/month/etc.

How Amazon Pays Drivers

The money that you get paid is based on 2 things: the base pay and the amount of tips you receive.

Base Pay

Unlike a lot of similar jobs, like driving for Uber or Lyft for example,  Amazon Flex actually has what they call a base pay. This is the pay they say that you are guaranteed to make per hour.

This can vary depending on the delivery demand that they are experiencing.

Tips are always nice and always welcome. One of the nice things about Amazon Flex is that customers can tip deliverers directly through the app. They can do so up to 48 hours after delivery.

You also may receive cash tips from customers when you deliver (this does happen occasionally)

How Much Amazon Flex Drivers Make

Amazon isn’t lying when they tell you that drivers make anywhere from $18-$25/ flex pay

Drivers do make this amount of money. $18-$25/hr is something that can be expected and I know people who make more than this regularly.

At a minimum, Amazon is going to pay you $18/hr. So that is like a safety net. You won’t go below that and usually you will earn more.

Tips play a big part in how much you will make. It is difficult to give you number as for how much you can expect to be tipped, but I would say anywhere from $4-$8 per hour in tips is something you can expect.

So with a base-pay of $18-$25/hr + $4-$8/hr in tips, you could be looking at making anywhere from $22-$33 per hour total. To be conservative though lets say that you make on the lower end, with $18/hr base-pay and $4/hr in tips which means you will make $22 per hour.

$22 per hour is absolutely a number you can expect to make. Like I said, its hard to put a number on it because this will vary depending on the location you are driving, the time of year, the amount of other drivers, etc… but I think $22/hour is a fair number and is definitely achievable.

You can also look at salaries that Flex drivers have posted on sites like GlassDoor.

GlassDoor is a good place to look because people can anonymously post reviews about jobs they have. This means that if a job is bad, if it pays little, if the management is a bunch of a**holes, you are going to hear about it on GlassDoor.

GlassDoor usually doesn’t represent the average review and opinion of employees or workers however. It is usually filled with more negativity from people complaining.

And as for Amazon Flex Drivers that have posted their salaries on GlassDoor, this is what you see…

There are 44 people that have posted their salaries working as a Flex delivery drivers. I just took a screenshot of the top 3 job titles (which are all Flex Drivers although they show different names) and they all average out to right around $18/hr.

So this is actually a good sign. Believe me, if here were people making less than $18/hr with Amazon Flex they would be complaining and posting reviews all over GlassDoor.

How Much Drivers “Actually” Make

One thing that you have to realize is that when you drive for Amazon Flex, you will not be reimbursed for the cost of operating your vehicle.

You won’t be reimbursed for gas money, for oil changes, for new tires, etc. That is all on you.

When you are a Flex driver you are considered an “independent contractor”, not an employee. This is the same for Uber, Lyft, Doordash, and all of these types of jobs.

This is the reason that Amazon doesn’t have to reimburse you for job related expenses. They are simply contracting you to work for them. This is a good thing in a lot of ways but when it comes to the expenses of course its a bad thing.

How much money do you lose to expenses?

The answer to this question will vary greatly with the vehicle you are using to deliver. If you have a old junky Ford Taurus with a bad O2 sensor then you will have to pay a lot more for gas money than if you have a new hybrid Toyota Prius.

Generally I would say that the tips you make from delivering cover the costs of driving. So that $4-$8/hr that I mentioned you can expect to get in tips, you can kiss that goodbye. But you still will be making the base pay of $18-$25/hr.

You Will Make Less Than You May Think

Another very important thing to take into consideration when you look at Amazon Flex pay is the amount of hours you will work.

Amazon Flex hours are broken down into what they call “blocks”, which is just another word for shifts. These blocks vary in length from 2-4 hours. They start at 8am and end at 12am (midnight), sometimes going later.

Amazon Flex hours of operations may seem good and all, they have Flex drivers delivering all day. But what you need to know is that there is A LOT of competition from other drivers.

There are only so many blocks available to work, and there are tons of Flex drivers, in my opinion too many. This means that getting the hours you may desire will be difficult.

It is not uncommon to go for days and even weeks without getting assigned any blocks to work. This is a problem and is one of the most common complaints from Flex drivers.

Luckily there is a way to pick up blocks even if you were not assigned any. I have already written a post on it that you can read more about by clicking the link below if you are interested.

How To Get More Flex Blocks

Final Thoughts On How Much You Make

Ok, so the money equation for how much you will actually make looks like this…

money you make = base pay + tips – driving costs

The cost of driving your vehicle pretty much cancels out the money you make from tips, so you are left making the base pay to take home.

In my opinion, $18-$25, which is the base pay, is still pretty good money for what you are doing. What you need to remember is that this job is extremely easy. Once you are out delivering it is just you and the app, there is no boss. So there is a lot of positives to the job.

The main problem I have with the salary isn’t the hourly pay, it is the amount of hours you will get, which will of course determine how much money you make total. Amazon Flex is not all that reliable. Some people are able to consistently get 30+ hours a week, but others have a really hard time getting any hours at all.

So the hours you get is the dilemma here. And you won’t really know what is possible unless you sign up and actually try and see what you are able to get.

Anyway, I hope you found this post helpful. Like I said multiple times, the numbers I gave for tips, driving expenses, etc are all just estimates. They will vary depending on your situation.

If you are interested in becoming an Amazon Flex driver then I suggest you read this post that I wrote that goes over a bunch of different aspects of working as a Flex driver. It will give you a better idea of what the job is like and whether or not you want to be a part of it.

Amazon Flex App Download – Where To Get It

Finding out where to download the Amazon Flex app can be a frustrating task. Luckily for you, I am going to go over exactly how you can download this app in this short post.

But before you can think about downloading it, you first need to make sure that you have a smartphone that is actually capable of using this app. You will need either and iPhone or an Android device. And the requirements for each include the following…

  • Must be an iPhone 5 or newer
  • Must run on IOS 8 or higher

Android Device

  • Must run on version 4.4 or higher
  • Must have at least 2 Gigabytes of RAM
  • Must have a camera with a flash
  • Must have GPS location services
  • Must have a SIM card

If you have an iPhone or Android device that meets all of the requirements then you are good to go. It is capable of downloading and running the app.

Where To Download The App

I’m assuming you already know that the Amazon Flex app isn’t available on Google Play nor the Apple Store, that is probably why you are here and reading my post.

Depending on whether you have an iPhone or Android device, the place you download the app is going to be different, but the process will start out the same regardless of what smartphone you have.

First you will have to go to

Once you get there you will see that it asks you for your location. So you will click on where you are planning to deliver for Flex at. Amazon Flex isn’t offered in all that many cities as of yet, so if your city isn’t on the list then you are out of luck for the time being (but I would check back at a later date because Amazon Flex is growing).

Then it will ask you if you are at least 21 years old and if you have a drivers license. These are two of the requirements to become a driver (You can read the full list of driver requirements here).

Next you will be asked whether or not you have a 4-door mid-sized sedan or larger, which you will need to answer yes to in order to download the app from However, if you don’t have a car as mentioned you still may be eligible to deliver for Amazon Flex, you will just have to start the signup process and if you qualify they will email you a link to download the app during on-boarding.

After answering the question about your car, you will then choose the type of phone that you have, which will have to be either Android or iPhone. And then things get a little different after this point, so I will go over the process separately for each type of phone below…

Downloading the Amazon Flex app for iPhones is a little more tricky that it is with Androids. I don’t know why Amazon decided to make it more difficult but that is just the way it is.

The app is only available for iPhone users via email. So its not like you can go to a certain place and just download it. You are going to have to jump through a few hoops first.

After you select that you have an iPhone from the series of questions, you will then be taken to a screen that tells you that the app is only available for iPhone downloads via email. You will have to enter your name, phone number, email, car type, and zip code.

You will have to submit that and then it will tell you that they will get in touch with you for directions on downloading the app.

Once you have submitted the information and taken the short survey you are then at the mercy of Amazon Flex. They might email you right away or it might take a week.

But look out for the email. It will look like this and it will give you a link to download the app…

Downloading the Amazon Flex app for Android devices is simpler than it is for iPhones.

After you select that you have an Android phone from the series of questions, you will then be asked if it has at least 2 GB of RAM and if it is running on version 4.4 or higher. Then you will be asked if you are going to make deliveries with that specific device.

After getting through those 2 additional questions a download button will appear and you are good to go. Download it right away and then all you have to do is install it from your device.

Having Trouble With Anything?

I think Amazon does a pretty good job at providing support with all matters related to Amazon Flex. If you are having trouble with anything related to downloading the app, installing it, etc. or even any problem at all in the on-boarding process, you can call an on-boarding specialist at the number below…

Amazon Flex Delivery Blocks – How To Get More Of Them

In this post I’m going to be going over a few tips for how to get Amazon Flex blocks. Getting Amazon flex delivery blocks can be quite the challenge and that is the last thing a Flex driver wants to deal with. Blocks are in high demand and it seems that they all get assigned to everyone but you.

Well first off, just to let you know, there are a lot of people that have troubles getting blocks and this is actually one of the more common complaints I have heard with Amazon Flex drivers.

But anyway, I hope this short post helps you out so you can get more blocks, deliver more, and ultimately make more money.

To start out I think its important to just do a brief overview of what a block is and how they work, then I’ll get into picking up blocks.

Blocks & How They Work

A “block” is just Amazon’s word for a shift. They are the structured time periods that drivers can deliver for Amazon Flex.

Generally 2 hour blocks are the most common, although some places have longer 4 hour blocks.

Most of the Amazon Flex cities offer blocks from 8am to 12am (at night). So if your city’s Amazon Flex warehouse runs 2 hour blocks then this means that the blocks would go like this… 8-10am, 10-12pm, 12-2pm, 2-4pm, 4-6pm, 6-8pm, 8-10pm, and 10-12am.

How To Get Blocks

There are two ways for Flex drivers to get blocks. The first and the most obvious is that drivers get the blocks in which they are assigned. When you set your availability in the app for each week Amazon will assign blocks randomly. Amazon tells you to make sure to set availability before noon on Friday in order to potentially get blocks assigned for the next week.

But since you are reading this post I am guessing that you were assigned a very small amount of blocks or maybe even none at all.

The fact that you weren’t assigned what you would like doesn’t mean that they don’t like you. This is due to the simple fact that there are a lot of Flex drivers out there and there aren’t all that many blocks. In my opinion there are too many drivers and the competition is too great, but luckily there is a way to get more blocks.

Picking Up Same-Day Blocks

Just because Amazon doesn’t give you the blocks that you want doesn’t mean you should give up. You can actually pick up blocks on the same day that they run.

There can be a lot of reasons why Amazon suddenly posts open blocks with very short notice in advance. Some of the more common reasons would be that a Flex driver forfeits, or cancels, their assigned block, or that there is a sudden increase in package volume that needs to be delivered.

And if you want to take advantage of these blocks that become open on the fly, then you need to know when to look. because once an open block becomes available you better believe that there are about 100+ other Flex drivers waiting to pounce on it.

So when should you keep an open eye on your phone for available blocks?

Unfortunately, there is not really a great answer I can give you for when blocks become available, but I can give you a decent answer.

It is common that blocks become the most available during the previous block. So for example a 2:00-4:00pm block might come available during the previous block from 12:00-2:00pm.

Drivers are allowed to cancel their blocks with just a 45 minute notice at the latest without being penalized for canceling. So usually all blocks will be filled at least 45 minutes in advance, although there will be some situations where they might need filled with even less time in advance. And there will be times when a block becomes available with 10 or even 5 minutes until it starts. This is usually from last minute “call-offs”, which will result in being penalized.

So generally, I would say your best bet to getting blocks is to look during the block time-frame that comes before the one that you want. That seems to be the sweet spot. But there is no time-frame that is carved in stone for this.

What To Do Next

If you are serious about getting more Flex blocks then you need to be relentless when it comes to checking in and seeing if there are any.

To see if there are any available blocks, you need to go into the app and to to the “offers” page. When you click on that you will either see a screen that shows blocks that are available, or you will see a screen that says “no offers available, check back soon”.

Here is a screenshot of what you can expect to see when there are offers…amazon flex blocks

But you will see the “no offers available” screen more often than not.

You need to be a screen refreshing machine when it comes to this. If you want a chance at getting same-day blocks then you need to accept a block the second you get the chance. You can’t be too picky or choosy when it comes to this. There are other people doing the same thing so you need take advantage of the opportunity when it presents itself.

In order to accept a block, all you have to do is tap on the block, then an orange button will pop up that says “accept”, and of course you need to click on that.

Final Thoughts

I wish there was a better way to get blocks, but as far as I know there isn’t. There is no hack, there is no cheat, there is no good way to go about it.

But the fact of the matter is that you CAN pick up blocks if you aren’t satisfied with what you have been assigned. There are blocks opening up all the time and there are people picking up blocks all the time.

The only advice I can give you is what I said above, you need to be relentless.

A suggestion would be to get a feel for when the popular times for block availability are in your area (if there are any good times) and then go on a screen-refresh rampage. Refresh your screen every 10 seconds or so and do this for a little while, maybe 15 minutes. I know its a pain, but it pays off sometimes and it is worth it.

Anyway, I hope this post helped you out and I hope you can pick up some blocks.

Amazon Flex Driver Requirements – Find Out If You Qualify

If you are considering driving for Amazon Flex, delivering packages with your own vehicle, and working a flexible schedule.. then you first have to make sure that you meet the Amazon Flex Driver requirements to be able to deliver.

If you are worried about not qualifying… calm down already. Amazon isn’t very strict when it comes to bringing drivers on-board. But at the same time there are reasons that could potentially disqualify you as a candidate.

In this short post I am going to be going over what it takes to become a Flex driver. After reading this you will know if you have what it takes and you can move on from there by beginning the signup process if possible.

Driver Requirements

Amazon requires all Flex drivers to be at least 21 years of age. You must be this old before applying.

They don’t give any real reason as to why the age requirement is set at what it is, but one can speculate that it is probably because drivers with some experience are much more reliable and less of a liability.

The vehicle requirements depend on what you are delivering.

If you are delivering for Amazon’s “Prime Now” service then there aren’t really any restrictions. You just need a vehicle that transport packages in a safe and reliable way.

If you are going to be delivering regular old orders then its more strict, but still not much. In this case you must have a dependable 4-door sedan or larger. If you have a truck it must have an enclosed bed so that packages are protected from the weather.

Take note that it must be “dependable”. You might be able to get the job with a vehicle that isn’t dependable (if they don’t know) but keeping the job is another story.

In some cities, such as New York City, you can deliver for Amazon Flex via a bicycle. You bicycle must meet the state or cities requirements to be street legal and it must have a basket to hold packages. You, the rider, are required to wear a helmet.

In order to use the Amazon Flex app you must have an Android or Apple device.

Currently, if you have an android, it must be running at version 4.4 at the minimum and it must have at least 2 Gigabytes of RAM. In addition it needs to have a camera along with a flash that works, gps location services, and a SIM card.

If you have an iPhone it must be a 5 or newer and be running on IOS 8 or higher.

There also may be other requirements as far as your device goes and these can depend on the region you plan on delivering in.

Note: The Flex app is not available at the Apple Store nor at Google Play. What happens is that if you make it passed enough of the on-boarding process, Amazon will send you an email with a private link to download the app.

Background Check

There are 2 background checks that you must be able to pass, which include motor vehicle and criminal background checks.

This seems to be the requirement that gets people in a panic the most, and this is understandable. I would say not to panic though, they are pretty lenient if you would compare them to many other jobs.

You can learn more about the background checks, such as how long they take, what they look for, how far back they check, etc. by reading a post I have already written below…

More Info On Amazon Flex Background Checks

Driver’s License

You of course must possess a valid driver’s license. This is a given and obviously should be expected. I mean after all, you are going to be driving for the job.

If your drivers license has expired you can always update it inside the app. You must, of course, have already went through the on-boarding process at this point to already have access to the app.

Social Security Number

You must have a Social Security Number (SSN). This is required for the background checks. The companies that perform them for Amazon (third parties) will use your SSN to run the background checks and bring up all the information on your history that they need.

And That’s It!

Not too bad right? I don’t think the requirements are too strict and most people can pass them with ease.

If you pass these requirements and you are still interested in driving for Amazon Flex, then I suggest you first read over my post here… Amazon Flex Delivery Jobs.. Are they worth it?. In this post I go over a bunch of different aspects of the job such as the benefits, what its like, complaints, expenses, how much you can expect to get paid, and more.

I would read over that before you go and sign up.

Do you have any comments, questions, or concerns about the requirements to become an Amazon Flex driver? I am sure there are some things that I left out but you can leave a comment below and I will get back to you within 24 hours 🙂

Amazon Flex Driver Support – How To Get In Contact

amazon flex reviewIf you are looking to contact Amazon Flex Driver support then you are in luck. Fortunately they actually offer some decent support. In this short post I will be going over the different ways to contact support and how you need to get in contact with them depending on your situation.

Whether you are going through the onboarding process, a current driver looking for some assistance with Flex app tech issues, or a driver that is out on the road and in need of assistance, Amazon Flex offers support for just about any situation.

Different Ways Of Getting In Contact With Them

There are 4 different ways that I know of that you can contact Amazon Flex support for help, all of which I will be going over.

There is the daily Q & A session along with a phone number to connect you with an onboarding specialist, where you can ask questions, get answers, learn about the Flex app and other parts of the onboarding process. There is their email support where you can get specific questions answered within a fairly short period of time. There are 2 different support phone numbers where you can get immediate support, both for driver related questions and questions about anything else. And possibly the most necessary support is the immediate help you can get while out driving by tapping the help button inside the app.

Daily Q & A Sessions

Every day Amazon Flex holds Q & A sessions at two separate times, 1pm and 4pm Eastern time.

These sessions are not for current drivers, they are for those that are looking to become drivers.

They mainly cover topics like how to install the app, how to reinstall it, how to use it, etc. The are a good number of problems surrounding the app and many people seem to have difficulties with its, so these sessions can be helpful. .

You can type in and ask questions during the sessions.

Onboarding Support Number

The Q & A’s are definitely a good source of information for people going through the onboarding process. But inevitably there are going to be somethings left unanswered that you may need answered.

Luckily, Amazon provides a support number that can connect you directly with an onboarding specialist. This number is listed below…

  • 888-281-6906

Amazon Flex Email

If you are looking to for support to a question that does not need an immediate answer, then the email support is probably what you want to use.

They can be emailed at

They seem to be pretty good at getting back to you quickly when it comes to emailing them. I would say that you can expect a reply in 48 hours tops, usually much sooner. But of course this might depend on how complicated of a question you are asking.

Amazon Flex Support Number

There are 2 amazon support numbers that you can call for immediate support, one is for Flex drivers that are on the clock, and another is for Flex drivers that are off the clock.

When you are on a block with Amazon Flex you can call the dispatch number. This number will connect you with an Amazon Flex dispatcher that can help you out with things like order issues, late deliveries, etc. The in-app help button is easier and more effective however (more on this further down).

You need to be online with Amazon Flex when you call this number.

  • 1-877-472-7562

Not Working

If you are a Flex driver but not currently working, then you are going to want to call the customer service number for Amazon Flex.

This number can help you out with pretty much everything else. If you are having issues with your Flex account, have a payment issue, or have any sort of technical issue, they can help with this.

  • 1-877-212-6150

Flex App Help Button

This is a newer feature that is available on the app. Getting help while out on a block is now as simple as tapping the help button within the app.

This is for getting support for deliveries. If you have a question about a delivery or something of that nature this is what I would use.

What I Recommend

If you can.. use the Amazon Flex support email or the Q & A Session to get the answers and support you are looking for. I would only use the support numbers if I have to, which does happen.

The reason I say this is just to be nice. You don’t want to bog down the support lines with every little thing that comes up. These lines are meant to provide quick and immediate support and that cannot happen if everyone would call in over every single problem, question, or concern.

The in-app help button is definitely the go-to method when you are out driving and need help with an order. Its fast, simple, and easy to use.

All in all I think that Amazon does a very good job at giving their Flex drivers the much needed support they need. You are bound to need support at least once in the time you drive for Flex and this shouldn’t be a problem with the support provided.

Do you have any questions, comments, or concerns about Amazon Flex support? Leave a comment below and I’ll get back to you within 24 hours…

Uber BLACK Car List – Does Your Car Qualify?

If you are considering driving for Uber Black you of course are going to need a car that qualifies for this service. With that in mind, I have put together this Uber Black car list so that you can verify whether or not your car makes the cut.

But before I get into the list I think its important to give a brief overview of what UberBlack is to give you a better idea of what you are getting yourself into in case you don’t already know.

UberBLACK In A Nutshell

UberBLACK is one of Uber’s upper echelon services. It is a luxury service that is know for being “black”.. literally. Vehicles that drive for this service are all black, inside and out. This along with being top of the line cars make them a great alternative to limos, which are pretty much the rich version of the taxi.

Their are benefits and downsides to being an UberBLACK driver. For example: You earn more money per fare, but you probably won’t get as many fairs as lesser priced services like UberX just because their isn’t as much demand.

List Of Popular UberBLACK Cars

Acura – RLX, MDX

Audi – A8, A8L, Q5, Q7

BMW – 7 & 5 Series, X5, X6

Cadillac – ATS, CTS, STS, DTS, SRX, XTS

Chrysler – 300s, 300c

Hyundai – Equus

Infiniti – M35H, M37, M60

Land Rover – Range Rover

Lexus – LS, 450H, GS, LS

Lincoln – MKZ, MKS, MKX, MKT

Jaguar – X-Type, XF, XJ

Maserati – All

Mercedes-Benz – CLA, CLS, C, E, M, & S-Classes

Porsche – Panamera, Macan, Cayenne

Tesla – Model S, Model X

Volkswagen – Touareg

Car Not On The List?

If your car isn’t on the list above it still might have a chance at qualifying for UberBLACK. All of those listed above are popular car models that are eligible to drive for this service, but it is limited to those.

All UberBLACK cars must meet the following requirements. If your car does, then you are in luck…

  • Must be a 4 door high-end luxury sedan, crossover, or SUV
  • Must be able to seat at least 4 passengers
  • Interiors & exterior must be all black and in near perfect condition
  • Must be a 2012 or newer
    • This will vary slightly depending on where you live
  • A/C & windows must be in working condition
  • Must have leather or vinyl interior in with no tears
  • No salvaged or rebuilt vehicles allowed
  • No marked vehicles allowed (Ex: taxis, commercial branding)
  • Must be free of cosmetic damage
  • Must have TCP number
  • Must have commercial insurance and be commercially registered

If your vehicle meets all of these, then its time for you to sign up with Uber and find out for certain whether or not your car makes the cut.

Car Doesn’t Cut It? Here Is A Solution

I normally don’t recommend this for Uber’s luxury rideshare services, but I still want to inform you of it just so that you are aware.

If you don’t have a car that qualifies for UberBLACK but still want to drive for it, you can rent or lease a car with Uber. You won’t actually be renting or leasing from Uber, but Uber is partnered with several 3rd party companies such as Hyrecar, Hertz, Enterprise, and they make it more streamlined to rent or lease a car for the purpose of driving for them.

Like I said, I honestly don’t recommend this option and chances are you will find it very difficult to be able to rent or lease a luxury car that will qualify, but I just wanted to make it known to you.

Final Options

If your car doesn’t qualify for UberBLACK and you don’t want to rent or lease a car, then you just aren’t going to be able to drive for this service.

My suggestion is to consider driving for another Uber service. If you car didn’t qualify for UberBLACK then your only option is probably UberX (lowest grade service) or possibly UberSELECT (mid-tier service). It isn’t going to qualify for the other Uber luxury services, like UberLUX, more than likely, and its not going to qualify for UberXL unless its an SUV, so your options are limited.

Don’t just role out UberX right away though. UberX gets the most requests of any service, is the cheapest, and has the most competition. There are goods and bads to all the services. But I do know people who make a living driving for UberX.
