Amazon Flex App Download – Where To Get It
Finding out where to download the Amazon Flex app can be a frustrating task. Luckily for you, I am going to go over exactly how you can download this app in this short post.
But before you can think about downloading it, you first need to make sure that you have a smartphone that is actually capable of using this app. You will need either and iPhone or an Android device. And the requirements for each include the following…
- Must be an iPhone 5 or newer
- Must run on IOS 8 or higher
- Must run on version 4.4 or higher
- Must have at least 2 Gigabytes of RAM
- Must have a camera with a flash
- Must have GPS location services
- Must have a SIM card
If you have an iPhone or Android device that meets all of the requirements then you are good to go. It is capable of downloading and running the app.
Where To Download The App
I’m assuming you already know that the Amazon Flex app isn’t available on Google Play nor the Apple Store, that is probably why you are here and reading my post.
Depending on whether you have an iPhone or Android device, the place you download the app is going to be different, but the process will start out the same regardless of what smartphone you have.
First you will have to go to flex.amazon.com/get-started.
Once you get there you will see that it asks you for your location. So you will click on where you are planning to deliver for Flex at. Amazon Flex isn’t offered in all that many cities as of yet, so if your city isn’t on the list then you are out of luck for the time being (but I would check back at a later date because Amazon Flex is growing).
Then it will ask you if you are at least 21 years old and if you have a drivers license. These are two of the requirements to become a driver (You can read the full list of driver requirements here).
Next you will be asked whether or not you have a 4-door mid-sized sedan or larger, which you will need to answer yes to in order to download the app from flex.amazon.com. However, if you don’t have a car as mentioned you still may be eligible to deliver for Amazon Flex, you will just have to start the signup process and if you qualify they will email you a link to download the app during on-boarding.
After answering the question about your car, you will then choose the type of phone that you have, which will have to be either Android or iPhone. And then things get a little different after this point, so I will go over the process separately for each type of phone below…
Downloading the Amazon Flex app for iPhones is a little more tricky that it is with Androids. I don’t know why Amazon decided to make it more difficult but that is just the way it is.
The app is only available for iPhone users via email. So its not like you can go to a certain place and just download it. You are going to have to jump through a few hoops first.
After you select that you have an iPhone from the series of questions, you will then be taken to a screen that tells you that the app is only available for iPhone downloads via email. You will have to enter your name, phone number, email, car type, and zip code.
You will have to submit that and then it will tell you that they will get in touch with you for directions on downloading the app.
Once you have submitted the information and taken the short survey you are then at the mercy of Amazon Flex. They might email you right away or it might take a week.
But look out for the email. It will look like this and it will give you a link to download the app…
Downloading the Amazon Flex app for Android devices is simpler than it is for iPhones.
After you select that you have an Android phone from the series of questions, you will then be asked if it has at least 2 GB of RAM and if it is running on version 4.4 or higher. Then you will be asked if you are going to make deliveries with that specific device.
After getting through those 2 additional questions a download button will appear and you are good to go. Download it right away and then all you have to do is install it from your device.
